Mountain High in July

The ib designs team heads out later this month on a Summer journey to the beautiful Rocky Mountains. ib’s handcrafted, island-inspired treasures will be featured at the Carbondale, Colorado Mountain Fair on July 26, 27 & 28.

This is the 42nd Annual Mountain Fair in Carbondale, Co. and we are hoping to make this an annual ib excursion. The Mountain Fair highlights artists, musicians and cultural heritage – right up our alley.

Carbondale in summer is a beautiful locale with a very strong artisan and outdoor community.

Our hope is that attending the festival will help spread the word about St. Croix as a unique destination and introduce festival-goers from all over to our island’s wealth of artistic talent.

ib designs is all about family and we are very excited that some of our extended family lives in Carbondale – allowing us to mix a little pleasure with our business!

We also would love it if our travels allowed us to cross paths with some of the many mainland Crucians.

So, if you feel like a mountain escape or if you are in the area, look for ib designs at the Carbondale Mountain Festival later this month!!

Colorado festivals are legendary and typically have massive attendance (more than 20,000 are expected at the Mountain Fair alone).

If you aren’t familiar with the Mountain Fair, here’s what the Carbondale Council for Arts & Humanities website www.carbondalearts.com has to say about it:

Carbondale is an “arts” town, and is a central hub of arts activity in the Roaring Fork Valley from Aspen to Rifle. In 2012, we were the recipients of the Governor’s Art Award for our commitment to arts and creativity.

Our Mountain Fair celebrates art in all forms of expression, and is known for a diverse range of arts and crafts, non-stop entertainment, great food and an amazing spirit. A “Family Area” includes interactive, creative experiences for children, and friendly competitions run the gamut from cake baking to wood splitting.

This year Roland McCook, Chief of the Northern Utes, will bring glimpses of his culture to the fair. There will be traditional Ute teepee set up on the fairgrounds as well as traditional dancing and drumming.  Over 300 volunteers come together to make this one of the most  popular and unique fairs in Colorado, and admission is FREE.

Some of our featured items at the 42nd Annual Carbondale Mountain Fair will be:

Infinity Bracelet

Strength Ring

Lavi Pendant

Bangles

Latitude Ring

Karma Collection

ib designs will be closed July 23-31, 2013 to journey to the Mountain Fair and enjoy a little r&r  🙂

Peace.
